Building & Zoning

Our Buildings & Zoning Director attends Zoning Board of Appeals meetings and alerts our members of developments. They also field resident inquiries on zoning and building code issues.

Correspondence, Legislation, Historian

Our Correspondence, Legislation, and Historian Director develops and sends newsletters to our members, coordintes mailings with our printer and our Membership Director, prepares special correpsondence for the WPOA, and maintains our historical records.

Finance & Taxes

Our Finance and Taxes Director audits the WPOA books annually before our April general meeting, attends the Village final budget presentation, and fields resident questions about taxes and assessments.

Programs, Publicity, and Business Liaison

Our Programs, Publicity, and Business Liaison Director proposes speakers for WPOA general meetings, notifies local media of upcoming events, submits articles to local media about events, and intereacts with local businesses to promote events.

Public Utilities and Transportation

Our Public Utilities and Transportation Director fields resident inquiries about Stewart Manor and New Hyde Park Road LIRR stations and the general condition of railroad properties in our neighborhoods, and they work with the several government bodies responsible for utilities in Garden City.

Treasurer

The Garden City WPOA Treasurer is responsible for managing the association’s

finances by tracking and recording membership payments, paying bills and

distributing funds on behalf of the association, and regularly collecting mail from

the WPOA post office box. The Treasurer attends WPOA meetings to report on

financial matters and keep residents informed about the association’s current

financial status.
